broken windows

at work, i’m running win2k on a Pentium III 650Mhz box with 128 megs of RAM. i left it on over the weekend and i came back to a computer that runs like a 386. it took about a minute for Outlook to open. the system was swapping like crazy. this OS has gone through at least 3 iterations. you’d figure the memory leak issues would be resolved by now. maybe win 2002 will have it fixed. hehe. my server however, has been running for 50+ days without a reboot and it’s running an old version of redhat with an old kernel (2.2.14) on an 200Mhz AMD K6 with 88 Megs of RAM, with 26 Megs still unused. it’s all about the penguin. =)
