pet peeve

a note to everybody who’s building a home page: DON’T EMBED MIDIs INTO YOUR WEB PAGE!!! ahhh… i feel better. it just had to be said. i was just browsing around looking for info on speaker sizes for my truck, and one of the pages i loaded gave me a mini-cardiac because it blasted this really cheesy midi song right at me. okay, i guess it’s my fault that the volume for midi sounds was almost all the way up. it’s not anymore. but still… if i wanted your site to make noise, i would have tapped on the monitor. another bad thing about embedding midis is that when i’m in linux, instead of playing the midi, i get a popup asking me to download a plug-in. hmmm… maybe that’s a good thing. okay, i’m done venting.
