insomniac

ugh… i can’t sleep. these past few weeks (or months, even) i’ve been having problems going to sleep. what’s weird is that i have no problems taking a midday nap. i can be lying sideways in bed reading a book or listening to music or something, and the next thing i know, i’m sleeping. but when it comes to overnight sleep, i can’t get in the zone. sometimes it’s just too quiet, where the ticking of my wristwatch across the room will bother me. other times, it’s too hot or too cold. sometimes, i just have something on my mind that i can’t put away. i don’t know what it is tonight. i didn’t take a nap today, so i should be feeling sleepy. i don’t know what to do. so here i am on the pooter typing up a new blog. the last time i couldn’t sleep, it was a few nights ago, and i started work on underactive.net v5.0 at 3 in the morning (only to trash it all after waking up and realizing my late night work was ass). but methinks it’s too soon to start work on v6.0. heh. i know they have medication for this problem, but i don’t it’s a good thing. like that prescription one i’ve seen commercials for. i forgot what it’s called, but i’ve noticed that almost every medication advertised on TV has a long list of side effects. what’s the point of fixing it if i have to put up with dry mouth, upset stomach, dizziness, headaches, diarrhea, etc, blah, etc… i think i’d rather have the insomnia. or maybe i can take some medication along with that to help with the dry mouth, and another for my headache, until all the side effects have been dealt with. why doesn’t somebody combine all those pills into one, with the result of fixing everything and having absolutely no side effects? i’m sofa king smart. =) hmmm… [taps fingers on keyboard] i stlll don’t know what to do. still not sleepy. will i stay awake thru yet another night? but i just did that last wednesday. ack! i do have other projects planned that i can start now, but knowing me, i won’t stop until i’m finished. case in point: v5.0 of this site was supposed to be a weekend project but i finished after working on it 13 hours straight… hmmm… i dunno. i’m out.
