broken record

i know i’ve blogged about this before, but i have to vent… pacbell DSL sucks! these last 4 days have been unbearable. the quality of service is very spotty. i’ll be cruising along with 80kb/s transfer rates, and a minute later it will slow down to 1.6k/s — which is slower than my 56k modem! ugh. it’s been months since i’ve been able to check email reliably. it currently takes a few minutes just for my mail program to login to the mail server. i lose packets frequently. last night i did a ping to pacbell’s own nameserver and had a 33% packet loss. IMs take 8 seconds to come through. online multiplayer games aren’t fun because i’m always lagging behind and interacting with objects that aren’t there anymore. this sucks… =(
