the gambler

so i went to San Diego again this past saturday for my “official” b-day celebration. i had a great time. Tracy took me to Viejas Casino and gave me $100 to gamble with. yep, she’s my sugar mama! =) when we got there, we walked around and checked out the outlet shops. i found a good deal on this Linux graphics programming book. then we sat down and watched this light and water show. pretty cool. another cool thing was that they had piped in night-time sound effects around the stores and walkways. kinda sounds like what you hear when you first get on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. i want something like that for whenever i get my own house. maybe even run some fog machines too. heh. anyways, we head over to the casino and head over to the non-smoking area and play some slots. so right away she starts winning while my first $20 disappears in about 5 minutes. we moved around to other machines and she found one that just kept paying off. the big one was when she hit triple sevens. by then she was about $70 up and i was down $60. so then i decided it was my turn to try out this machine and i thought i was about to lose another $20, but then on the last 3 quarters, i won and got my $20 back. so that’s when i called it and decided to cash out. we walked around some more and went back to that same slot machine and this time, tracy won $90. talk about lucky. i think it’s because she’s got some Indian blood in her, so being in an Indian-run casino, she’s got some kind of mysterious advantage over us normal folks. =) so in the end, we both came out on top. Tracy won almost $200 from only having to spend $10, and even though i lost, i still had $60 that i didn’t have before. after we were done gambling, we ate at this big buffet place they had there. i think i tried to make up for the $40 i lost by eating that much in food. =)
