this morning, i enrolled in an online Java class at Foothill College. hopefully, this should open up more doors as far as the job search is concerned. i’ve had to pass over a number of QA-related job postings because of the requirement to know Java. knowing an automated testing tool would also open tons more doors. my lack of experience in that has been a thorn in my side ever since i started looking for work, as it seems like almost every QA job out there requires some kind of automated testing experience. almost by chance, i found a Winrunner certification class at Cal Poly, which i quickly signed up for. it was supposed to have started last week, but it was cancelled and won’t start up again till July. sucks. =(
