brody is teh yummy

i’ve been listening to The Distillers a lot lately. i got turned on to them by this girl at work (first off, yes she’s unbelievably cute but, sorry guys, already spoken for). funny story how it happened. okay, might not really be funny but it’s a story and as you can tell from my rather quiet blog activity lately, it’s still a story, so i’m sharing it. it started the day before thanksgiving.. i was at work and walking to my cube/pod and we crossed paths, she noticed my Garbage “androgyny” shirt (a simple, yet ingeniously designed shirt which is why i dig it) and said “nice shirt”. i said “thanks” and continued on… it didn’t hit me until seconds later that i could have and should have said more, but i didn’t, so i sent off a quick email asking if she was a G fan too (yes, duh, eric but just had to make sure). so naturally we started talking about music stuff. turns out she’s about as big a G / Distillers / No Doubt fan as i am of PJ. hardcore. so i’m thinking to myself, i like G, i like No Doubt, but haven’t heard any, much less heard of, The Distillers, and i’d probably like their stuff too. so the day after thanksgiving, i made it my mission to go out and purchase their CD. i’ve been itching for some new music from some new (to me anyways) bands so i set out that morning to get it. to make a long story short, 2 hours of hellish parking lot traffic and 5 stores later, my mission was accomplished and i had in my hands their new CD, Coral Fang. kick ass rockin album.. and Brody’s voice is sexier than sin (hell, she’s damn sexy herself — raaawr!). so that was last week and i’m still rockin to their music. i picked up their previous CD a few days ago so i think that makes me a fan, no? they’re actually playing here in SD this friday but i won’t be able to go. tho if i had gotten into their music earlier, i definitely would have made time. sucks cuz they won’t be playing in the area anytime soon after that (unless someone wants to give me KROQ acoustic xmas tix) and i feel like i just missed out on seeing them perform live. =( hmmm… mebbe PJ will be the closing act for them one of these days… heh.
