sealab 2021

January 16th, 2003 admin No comments

so a coworker of mine got us all into watching this show called Sealab 2021. it airs late nights on Cartoon Network, and it’s some pretty damn funny stuff. what they did was take this old educational Hanna Barbera cartoon (Sealab 2020) from 1972 that taught kids about the environment and built new stories around the old animations. and now that it’s a year later (storywise), the entire sealab crew has gone crazy. hilarity ensues. oh and the kicker — this toon features the one and only Erik Estrada as the voice of Marco Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

NBC sucks

September 16th, 2000 admin No comments

when it comes to broadcasting the olympics, NBC sucks. yesterday i was set to watch the opening ceremonies at 7:30. and what did they start off with? a news story on the IOC bribery scandal. old news but that’s what they decided to present us to kick off the Syndey 2000 broadcast. is this Dateline or the olympics?? c’mon! it’s not like it was live and they had half an hour to kill. they planned this out. who’s the genius who thought up “hey, let’s show the american people how good our news reporting is”. all they accomplished was pissing me off. another NBC annoyance is Bob Costas’ commentary. i wish he would just leave the stupid quips and inane commentary alone. i wish i had a “mute bob costas” button on my remote. i was also watching the women’s triathlon and that was also something i wish i had the mute button for. i don’t know who was doing the narrating (notice how i didn’t say play-by-play), but it doesn’t matter. it was like 90% human-interest and theatrical BS and 10% play-by-play. it’s as if the dude was reading off a script — and he probably was since it wasn’t live. NBC blows.
