Back to reality
Sorry it's been a while since my last blog entry. I spent the last part of last week in SD. Right now, I feel like I have to work in SD, so I've been looking at SD jobs exclusively. It looks like things are starting to pick up as far as the availability of jobs out there. Now I just need to get my butt in gear and update my resume.
Earlier this week, I kept myself busy by totally cleaning out my room. I am such a packrat and tossed out TONS of stuff. Old computer-related manuals (Diamond Speedstar ISA video card manual, anyone?) and other goodies. Found some interesting nuggets, like an AOL free trial offer kit, featuring version 1.1 of AOL for Windows, and a whopping 10 free hours. Also found this business card of the very first place I made an e-commerce purchase, cd-connection.com. It wasn't even web-based. It was done thru telnet. How old school is that? =)
Back then, I remember how cool it was being able to buy this PJ import single online, from the old VAX machines at school. They even had a menu-based search system. It was all primitive, but it worked.
So I spent 3 days just cleaning out my stuff. Computer manuals, clothes, everything. Should make it easier for me to move out, now that I won't have to worry about sorting stuff out and deciding what I can keep, since I just did that. Now that my busy work has been done, I'm hoping that these next 2 weeks will go by fairly quickly.
