Broken Windows
At work, I'm running Win2k on a Pentium III 650MHz box with 128 megs of RAM. I left it on over the weekend and I came back to a computer that runs like a 386. It took about a minute for Outlook to open. The system was swapping like crazy. This OS has gone through at least 3 iterations. You'd figure the memory leak issues would be resolved by now. Maybe Win 2002 will have it fixed. Hehe. My server however, has been running for 50+ days without a reboot and it's running an old version of Red Hat with an old kernel (2.2.14) on a 200MHz AMD K6 with 88 megs of RAM, with 26 megs still unused. It's all about the penguin. =)
