first post

well i'm pretty much done with most of the new site. at least it's good enough to push it live. i still need to automate the content for the screenshots and redo the portfolio layout. but the way it is now is doable. certainly better than how it was before. i also redid the thumbnails for the screenshots so that they were more bandwidth friendly. for some odd reason, the old thumbnails were around 25k each. so i went back and now they're around 5-8k... much better. and in general the site is much tighter. no more bloated graphics. most of the graphical boxes here are really just tables.
