FJ Retrospective (part 5)

FJ Retrospective (part 5)

[March 7 2007] Back to Borrego with a small group run organized from adventure4x4. Did a tour of 17 Palms Oasis and Una Palma. Was told by the trail leader that the palms signify a source of water beneath. There was a small barrel at 17 Palms, sort of a desert mailbox where visitors can leave messages and water.

[April 14 2007] Went to the 2nd SoCal Meet and Greet at the Puente Hills mall with a great turnout of almost 50 FJs. After the meetup some of us drove up to Azusa OHV. My first time there and got to play around in the mud a bit which was fun (the cleanup, not so much).

Upgrades during this time was my first lighting upgrade – a pair of Acro pods, which is what the Demello front bumper cutouts were made for. And a taller CB antenna, a 5 foot Firestik antenna, which prompted my friend's nephew to comment that it makes the FJ look like a giant RC car. Cool! Along with a quick disconnect so I can put the shorter 2 foot antenna on during daily driving so I can still park in garages.
