Guinness
Welp, I'm back running Red Hat 7.0 (Guinness)... Yesterday, I was able to get RH 7.1 tweaked, optimized, and updated – for the most part. I saved installing XawTV for last, and that's where I started running into problems. Might be due to the fact that /dev/video is now a directory instead of a file, which XawTV was complaining about. So, I did as much troubleshooting as I could, and in the end I decided to wipe it all out and start over with RH 7.0.
'Tis a shame too, because kernel 2.4 made things appear to run even smoother. I have an SMP system, which is one of the major improvements with 2.4. Not that 2.2 is a slouch, but I could sorta visually tell the difference between 2.2 and 2.4. Ah well.
I'm in the middle of tweaking RH 7.0 right now... Seems like yesterday all over again. Hopefully today I'll have time to play some PSO! =)
