Happy Ending

Things have been crazy busy at work lately. Last week, I pulled a 60-hour week and this week is approaching that. This past Wednesday, I had a 16-hour shift doing some geo testing and Thursday I got out at 11 PM. That's a lot of OT (and double-OT! =)).

We were all starting to get burnt out, but we got some cool news in that they let us (PlanetSide QA) in to demo and play for this Press Event at the ESports Arena in the Gaslamp Quarter. We carpooled there and managed to get there at 7, just before the big Friday night crowd arrived.

The arena is actually a single theater inside the Pacific Theatre, but with the seats yanked out in favor of a large number of networked PCs. There were also plasma TVs along the walls, 2 small projection screens in the back, and of course one large screen in the front. I took a few pics which I'll post in the gallery soon.

The event was a blast. Our team went Vanu and we were just 2 TR bases away from capturing Ishundar. The fact that we were grouped together made it much easier to coordinate our attacks, and I can see huge LAN parties similar to this happening down the line. It's the only way to play PlanetSide. =)

I'm really glad we all got to go and be able to play outside of work, and show it to the press as well. It was just what I needed to get a break from the workplace, and I'm good to go for tomorrow's Saturday testing.
