In Haste
Yikes! I can't believe it's been over a week since the last update. And I thought time was going too fast when I wasn't working. Someone cast a slow spell on me please. I've been working some semi-crazy hours lately. Last week I pulled 60 hours. It's kinda cool seeing how putting in some extra hours makes your paycheck a bit fatter. My last 3 gigs were salary-based so I got jack for working extra hours, which I did quite often.
My work schedule is a little funky right now. I work on Saturday and Sundays, and my days off are Tuesday/Wednesday. It actually works out okay, since they're a little more lenient on Sat/Sun and we can listen to music and watch/listen to TV (okay, another TV) while we work. So the way I see it, I've got 3 days of regular work on the weekdays, and then 2 days of more relaxed work on the weekends, if that makes any sense. =)
I think I'm getting closer to becoming SD assimilated. I went up to LA this past Tuesday and the freeways seemed weird all of a sudden. And I've definitely become used to the cooler weather here. And it's also nice to be able to breathe in some cleaner air that won't have my allergies going haywire, and won't have my contacts drying out within a few hours.
There is one thing I miss about LA which I don't think I mentioned last time, and that's the lower gas prices. They're about 10 cents/gallon higher here. I made the mistake of going to a cheapie no-name gas place (because I couldn't find a real one around here and got lost trying and I was running on fumes) which funked up the fuel system to the point of having frequent engine hesitation and actually had a stall in the middle of morning traffic, which wasn't a pleasant experience. So I put in a bottle of fuel system cleaner stuff from Pep Boys and that seems to have fixed my crappy engine performance.
