New Old PS2
Last Monday I took in my PS2 to Sony in Irvine to take it in for service for the 3rd time, as it came back to me with the same problem I had before, only worse. Since it was my 3rd time taking it back, they decided to ship me a refurbished unit, which came with everything else a new PS2 comes with – controller, video and power cables, and a manual. Since I still have my original accessories, I guess that extra controller and cables make the three 80-mile trips worth it. Heh.
After playing it for a few days, I'm glad to say it doesn't have the disc read errors that I was getting before. However, I just finished Grand Theft Auto 3 yesterday and I feel like I played half a game because with the new PS2, I saw new textures and graphics that weren't loading with my broken unit. I only got to play the last 2 or 3 missions with the new one, so who knows what else I missed out on...
Ah well, at least I can start playing FFX knowing that I won't miss a thing.
