News quickies
Wow... It's been a while since my last log entry so I think I'll just spew out what has happened since then.
Oh... I got a PS2. Ordered it online at Circuit City on Easter Sunday, and picked it up the next day. I think I got pretty lucky with that. Even with the PS2, most of my gaming is done on the Dreamcast. I haven't seen any PS2 games yet that have "wowed" me. So far it's just a bunch of average 1st-generation quality titles. However, I know that's gonna change once Gran Turismo 3, Metal Gear Solid 2, and Final Fantasy X comes out. I still have a feeling that I'm still going to be playing my DC even with those games because PSO version 2 will be out. Heh. It's a shame Sega dropped out of the hardware biz... The DC offers online gaming out of the box, it has a huge library, and can output to VGA.
Other geek news... I downloaded and burned Red Hat 7.1 (Seawolf) ISOs yesterday and installed it. Worked great for the most part, but there were a few issues with it. The first was that VMware couldn't build its vmnet module and complained about some headers. I went to Deja.com and there's a few other people that are having the same problem. So it's not just my system. The second issue I have with RH7.1 is that the Nvidia GL drivers aren't working 100%. I couldn't compile some apps that used imlib2. They complained about some GL library. Sooo, today I reinstalled RH 7.0 again.
