Stupid quake tricks

Last night I made the dumbest mistake ever. I was playing Quake 3 Team Arena, Terrain 2 map, and the game was tied. It was tied for about 40 minutes – there was good defense on both teams. But I managed to grab their flag (I found a cool new escape route!) and was about 20 seconds from my base to score a point.

On the way there I saw a teammate and I usually do the taunt/cheer thing in that situation. So I did... only I pressed the wrong button – I pressed the 'use item' button, and I totally didn't even know I had a kamikaze bomb on me. So instead of a "yeah!" cheer, I was greeted with a loud "boom!" and killed myself, and my teammate. Big oops there. Needless to say, I was in total shock and the other team returned their flag, after which I quickly bolted out of the game, lowering my head in shame...

I think that was my lowest point in Q3 history. But, I redeemed myself today, and played a great game on the Terrain 1 map. I capped 3 times, and even assisted myself in one of them. =) So that's my stupid Quake story.
